With Christmas fast approaching, the search is on for affordable but special Christmas cards. One trend that I find appealing is the move toward animated greeting cards. This type of card is fairly common on the internet.
There are some that you need to pay for and others are available for free. An animated card is one that when you open the email and click on the card, Santa and his reindeer fly across the screen or snow will fall and maybe you will see the manger scene with the animals nodding or the wise men approach the stable on camels or shepherds kneeling by the baby Jesus asleep in the manger.
Another may show elves working on toys or Santa dropping down a chimney. Some may show a church with snow falling or a wreath twinkling on a front door. The possibilities are almost endless. There are even animated actual cards powered by miniscule batteries. I saw one card that showed the wise men approaching the stable on their camels. It was a really beautiful card.
If you do a web search for animated Christmas cards you will find several links to sites that provide these fun cards. There are even a few sites that have free animated Christmas cards, with a variety of themes from funny to religious, like 123 Greetings. You should be able to find that special card for your sister who is traveling abroad for the holidays.
If you love snow scenes or country churches or Santa cards, these are also available with animation. Love cartoon type cards? You can have dancing elves, reindeer or Santas. The hardest part is browsing the hundreds of cards you will find on the net.
There are a few sites that have really exquisite animated cards for a fee. Only you can decide which you want to send.
