There is a growing trend towards sending e-cards to friends and family.
Some e cards are like traditional cards in that they are there when you click on the e-mail link an image will pop up with a verse that is your card.
However unique interactive Christmas cards provide an alternative to that type of card. Usually interactive Christmas cards present the image and then you are prompted to click to open the card. Then say your image in an unadorned Christmas tree. Then click to string up the lights, again to add various decorations and lastly add a star to the top of the tree.
Maybe you will see a darkened cabin in the woods. You will be prompted to click on a window to light the candles, the door to hang a wreath and maybe click on the moon or a cloud to start a gentle snow fall.
Some interactive cards are sophisticated, elegant and extremely beautiful, check out jacquieawson.com while others are cartoon like or simple drawings and humorous. Most are designed for families with children and a few are “adults only” cards.
There are so many sites and most of the cards are free. There are a number of sites that charge either by each card or by an annual subscription, which is usually less than the cost of two or three cards purchased at you local card store.
If you browse these sites you will find lovely sophisticated cards, humorous cards, some with Victorian, western or religious themes. There are interactive Christmas cards available to suit every taste. If you have never seen or sent this type of e-card you have a treat in store.
